Max Brose Hilfe supports social projects in the fields of health, education, culture, the arts and sports along with humanitarian aid. The foundation’s financial contributions benefit non-profit institutions in Germany and abroad.

Who is behind Max Brose Hilfe?
Max Brose Hilfe is a non-profit association registered in Germany. Its board is comprised of Brose Group executives. The association’s patron is Gabriele Volkmann, the great-granddaughter of the company’s founder Max Brose.
The Brose Group operates globally with 25,000 employees at 65 locations in 24 countries (as of 31 December 2021).
Who was Max Brose (1884 – 1968)?
Max Brose opened a trading company for automobile parts in Berlin in 1908. In 1919 he founded “Metallwerk Max Brose & Co.” with Ernst Jühling in Coburg and laid the foundation stone for the Brose Group, which is still headquartered there today.
Max Brose visited his plant every day – even in old age. The entrepreneur was not only interested in the well-being of his company, but also in the concerns and needs of his employees.
How does Max Brose Hilfe finance its activities?
Michael Stoschek, Max Brose’s grandson and managing partner from 1971 to 2005, endowed Max Brose Hilfe with one million euros when it was established in 2017. The association also receives donations from employees and other sponsors.
Solidarity bears fruit
In accordance with its articles of association, Max Brose Hilfe supports social and humanitarian projects in the fields of health, education, culture, the arts and sports.
“Major projects” …
… can receive up to 30,000 euros in funding from the association, with some projects receiving more in individual cases. Most projects focus on humanitarian initiatives in disadvantaged regions throughout the world. The association maintains direct contact with the respective aid organizations on site.
“Fast help” …
… can be requested by Brose employees for their personal charitable activities. This generally involves contributions of up to 1,000 euros. The funds are donated on behalf of the applicant. Donations are made in accordance with the requirements of association and tax law.

Fast help – Brose employees suggest where Max Brose Hilfe should get involved
Every employee of the Brose Group can apply to Max Brose Hilfe for support for humanitarian or social causes that are important to them personally. It makes no difference whether Brose employees seek support for far-away aid organizations or become involved in helping out with associations or other institutions right on their doorsteps. The prerequisite for funding is: The person applying for funds must already be involved there – whether through voluntary work or monetary contributions – and the recipient must be an eligible charitable institution or non-profit organization.
