MAX-BROSE-RUN – worldwide running campaign for the children’s relief organisation UNICEF
From 0 to 5000 m run
A worldwide sports, health and social project! Initiated by Brose’s company sports department and supported by many volunteers at all locations.
The aim was to enable even untrained runners to run 5000 m at a stretch with the help of a programme. For well-trained runners this is an exercise, for beginners it is a challenge. To increase week by week, to notice small successes and to continue to challenge oneself despite some effort.
975 Brose employees from 47 locations all over the world completed this health programme over 8 weeks and finished with a joint run in November.
Motivation was also the good cause. For every active runner, Max Brose Help donated to the children’s charity UNICEF. Thus, 20,000 € went to the institution. With this sum, 1000 crisis packages could be provided, which are distributed by UNICEF all over the world to children in greatest need.
The UNICEF crisis package contains a blanket, 300 water purification tablets, 25 bags of ORS mixture (a simple sugar-salt mixture that quickly helps with life-threatening diarrhoea, especially for small children), and 25 bags of peanut paste against malnutrition.
